Yamakaze Dojo

Dedicated to Studying Traditional Japanese Martial Arts

Welcome to our Dojo. Our school has been in existence since 1990, located in the heart of the Midwest in Decatur, Illinois. We are a small semi-private group and non-commerical in nature. Our goal is to preserve the various Japanese Martial Arts traditions we have been fortunate enough to study over a period of several years. Primarily, our Dojo offers training in Daito Ryu Aikibudo and Shinkendo.

Our Dojo is registered in Abashiri, Japan under Kato Soshi's Daito Ryu Organization called Nihon Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daito Kai. Additionally, our Dojo is registered under Obata Kaiso's organization called International Shinkendo Federation. Other arts that are studied at the school are Toyama-ryu and Atarashii Naginata. As with all sites, this one will evolve over time. Please come in and look around.
